Gear with Grit and Story, Part Two: Weapons!

This is part two of a three- (or four-, or five-…) part series on gear and equipment: how it worked in real life, and how it contributes to your character’s story. Part one is linked here.

There are about 40 weapons in the Player’s Handbook, and I don’t intend to go through every single one. In terms of realism, there are far fewer issues with this list than there were with armour and shields (although there are still a few). Instead, I focus more on categories of weapons and what they might ‘say’ about your character.
