This is part two of a three- (or four-, or five-…) part series on gear and equipment: how it worked in real life, and how it contributes to your character’s story. Part one is linked here.
There are about 40 weapons in the Player’s Handbook, and I don’t intend to go through every single one. Instead, I focus more on categories of weapons and what they might ‘say’ about your character.
This article is a Patreon exclusive. In it, I cover:
- Which weapons are not medieval
- Guns
- Missing weapons
- Axes
- Blades
- Bludgeons
- Ranged weapons
- Polearms and spears
- Throwing weapons
- Other weapons
